Involvement in Special Interest Groups is a benefit of membership in the Denver Alumnae Chapter. Meetings and events held by these groups are announced through email by each Special Interest Group Chair. Contact the VP Special Interests or the chair of the group to get more information about upcoming events.

If you would like to organize
a new Special Interest Group, please contact our VP Special Interests, Sam Tanenholtz.

Book Club — Nancy Ives and Stacy Stephens

Remember those college literature classes, when you analyzed characters, plot twists, symbolism, foreshadowing, and other elements of storytelling? This is so much better… because now WE get to pick the books!

The DAC Book Club is the group for Thetas who like to read and discuss a variety of literature. Meetings are held monthly all year long, with an alternating schedule of daytime and nighttime events, to broaden our intellectual horizons while enjoying each other’s company socially. We read everything from bestsellers to classics, historical fiction and thrillers to nonfiction and biographies. Selections are chosen by the group and announced months in advance so you can plan ahead. If you’re a reader too, we invite you to join us.

Meeting announcements are sent via Evite so you can RSVP easily and arrange a carpool if desired. If you are interested in joining, please email to join the group or to recommend a book for future consideration.

Bridge Club — Nancy Duncan

The Bridge Club is set up in flights, but meets in foursomes each month for bridge and dessert. While each Theta must have a partner, non-Thetas are most welcome. Games are informal and are scheduled at the convenience of the foursome. The players take turns hosting. In May, an annual luncheon for the entire group is held with awards for the top scoring couples in each flight. If you are interested in joining, please email Nancy Duncan.

Culture Club — Leslie Nissen

The culture club explores gems throughout the Denver Metro area, visiting museums, cultural exhibits, and other points of interest. To join the group, please email

Downtown Lunch Bunch — Jane Pope Meehan and Karen Olson

Lunch Bunch — Mary Grace Wake and Truda Moreau

Anyone interested in a casual lunch is invited to join the Lunch Bunch! We meet five to six times a year, usually the first Friday of the month (skipping the winter months) all over the city. If you are interested in joining, please email Mary Grace Wake.

Supper Club — Jenny Hock

The Supper Club is for Thetas who enjoy eating, cooking, and dining out with friends. Most gatherings are on weeknights, with locations at restaurants throughout the metro area.  A fall planning meeting determines the theme/calendar for each year.  We enjoy a very diverse group of women of all ages. If you are interested in joining, please email Jenny Hock.
